- The ZIP drive is more compatible with the Amiga than any CD-ROM drive,
- since CD-ROMs require special device drivers and filesystems, whereas the ZIP
- only requires a mountlist entry. Squirrel Zip Tools performs the same
- function as the PC and Mac Iomega Zip Tools, namely, read/write protection of
- cartridges, password protection, and software eject.
- The JAZ drive also requires tools to perform these same functions. Oregon
- Research says they'll have Squirrel Jaz Tools (I'm guessing they'll call it
- that) out soon. They say the drives are slightly different, but the changes
- to the software are trivial. (Why Iomega didn't make them exactly alike
- escapes me.)
